And They're Racing!

Over the years, V.I.P. has sponsored a lot of different clubs and sporting organisations but this is one with a difference. Lawn mower racing. Yes, it’s a thing.
It all started a few months ago because one of our lawnies, Tyson Gibbs, fancied himself as a bit of a racing driver. He contacted Matt Rowlands from South Australian Lawn Mower Racing Association (SALMRA) and then talked to us here at V.I.P. about sponsoring him for the Mowers @ Meningie event, in June.
Founder Rose Vis and many of the V.I.P. staff made the trip down from Adelaide and even though Tyson didn’t take out first place, it was stacks of fun and everyone had a fantastic day. We all thought it was a match made in heaven, so, when Matt from SALMRA approached us to sponsor their organisation, of course we said yes.
Not quite the race that stops the nation
Last Saturday, it wasn’t quite the race that stops the nation, but SALMRA racing was on again - this time at Millicent, in South Australia’s South East.
Yes, SALMRA is about having plenty of fun, building lawn mowers, souping up lawn mowers so that yours goes faster than the other guy’s, and haring around a race track - but it’s also about raising money for charities and local communities. At V.I.P. we’re proud to be their sponsor.
